It is with deep sadness that Takapuna AFC deeply regrets the passing of long time club member Tony Gore on Thursday 14th May. Tony has been fighting a long term battle with brain tumours and finally succumbed in the company of his wife Trish and two sons Joe and Frank.

The Gore family were heavily involved with North Shore where Tony was a skilful left footed midfielder before embarking on his OE and devoting time to establishing his credentials in Law with Knight-Coldicutt then re-joining Takapuna in the open A and the over 30’s. His quiet demeanour disguised a passionate man who enjoyed his football and the fellowship of his team mates, his absolute love for his family and his love of music.

The club is grateful for his tireless contribution to the club on matters of Law even when he may have been up to his neck literally when he established his own practice.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him at the club and in the wider football fraternity.
