Abuse is never 'just good banter.'

Important notice for all players, coaches, managers, and supporters.

Abuse is never just ‘good banter.’

As we head into the third week of Community Competitions, I would like to take a minute to remind you all that at Takapuna FC, we pride ourselves on our spirit of fair play, the integrity in which we play and the respect we show our opposition, match officials and ourselves.

Often our ‘passion for the moment’ may not help in our decision making – we have all been guilty of it from time to time but, over recent weeks I have witnessed some examples of some poor decision making by various individuals both on and off the park directed at match officials and opposition players.

Our President, Wayne Hallford touched on this after our NL home fixture against Manukau a couple of weeks ago yet, there seems to be an idea that abusing people can be brushed off as just good banter. Be assured, it can’t. The club will act swiftly to deal with any situation where people visiting the club, for what ever reason, are subjected to abuse.
